DE FIO

De Fio is an Arraiolos rugs with contemporary design brand. Each rug is unique and hand embroiled over countless hours, with wool on jute canvas. The brand needed to convey the natural and handmade aspect of the materials and technique, yet be discreet and sophisticated.
For de Fio we designed a logo, calling cards and labels.

The colours were selected from a range of natural dyes. An antique engraving of the Arraiolos stitch became an icon that can be used on its own or in combination with the other elements.

The labels that are sewn into the back of the rugs, after being hand-embroided with the number of stitches it took for each rug to be completed.
These were silkscreened into embroidery linen by carapau amarelo.
